DESH has been implementing special schools for Intellectually disabled. The Major activities are special education, ability-based education, activity of daily living, IEP and various therapeutic approaches, speech & language therapy, music therapy and occupation & physiotherapy. Besides these, many interventions have been taken such as physical exercise, sports, drawing & pasting, cultural activities, indoor & outdoor games, disability detection, guardian meetings, proactive social work, support assistance devices and vocational training. To reduce stigma from the community, awareness raising has been done in the community meeting. Necessary coordination and network have been established with stakeholders through SMC formation, activation and capacity building as needed. DESH has directly supported 1772 children & adolescents with intellectually disabilities, including autism, Cerebral palsy (CP), and down syndrome as well.

DESH has improved the special education quality including joyful learning method for the children through the special school. Apart from these, many interventions have been taken such as physical exercise, sports, drawing & pasting, cultural activities, indoor & outdoor games, disability detection, guardian meetings, proactive social work, support assistance devices and vocational training. The project also works on various therapeutic approaches like speech & language therapy, music therapy and occupation & physiotherapy. The project actively works within the community to combat the stigma surrounding special education needs. The project has been implementing in the working area of Mymensingh & Netrakona districts of Bangladesh since January 2024 to till to date.
